Anthropic

設定には「anthropic.fallbacks: "default"」が使われる。

Stop

LocalRuntimeHost

Anthropic fallback support

Cline SDK v0.0.88 adds fallback handling for Anthropic model requests and fixes a case in which a Stop could be lost while a turn was being prepared. The changes improve request resilience and make agent stopping more reliable during turn setup.

For direct Anthropic requests, the SDK now asks the Claude API to use its recommended server-side refusal fallback by setting anthropic.fallbacks to "default". OpenRouter and Cline requests for Anthropic models now set provider.allow_fallbacks.

With provider fallbacks allowed, a request can fail over to another upstream provider rather than failing outright. The release therefore extends Anthropic fallback support across direct, OpenRouter, and Cline calls.

Stop during turn setup

The release also addresses a timing issue affecting Stop commands. Previously, a Stop issued after runTurn() had been entered but before the run itself existed could be dropped.

Turn preparation can include session persistence, a git metadata refresh, and credential synchronization. During that interval, the agent runtime received abort() with no run in flight and ignored it. As a result, the host could show the turn as stopped even though the turn continued running.

LocalRuntimeHost re-sends abort

LocalRuntimeHost now retains the Stop and re-sends the abort once the run exists. This prevents a Stop arriving during preparation from being lost before execution begins.

The runtime also clears any leftover between-turns abort flag when a new turn starts. Without that cleanup, an abort retained between turns could cancel the next prompt instead of applying to the turn for which it was issued.

Together, these changes cover both sides of the Stop timing problem: preserving an abort until the current run can receive it, while ensuring stale abort state does not carry into a subsequent turn.

In v0.0.88, a Stop pressed during setup no longer disappears. If the run used to keep going, is this a big change?
It fixes a mismatch where the host showed “stopped” while the run continued. The runtime resends the abort after startup and clears leftover aborts before the next prompt.
What does “fallback” mean here?
It means switching to another upstream provider if the first one fails, rather than ending the request outright.
If I were using an Anthropic model, I’d feel better pressing Stop when needed. Maybe requests would also be a bit more resilient?
This applies to Anthropic models through direct Anthropic, OpenRouter, and Cline calls. The fallback and Stop fixes are aimed at more reliable requests and agent control.
