Cline Desktop v0.0.29 changes how queued messages can be sent while the agent is working, allowing the first queued message to reach the next turn sooner. This matters because the message no longer has to wait for the entire task to finish before it is picked up.
Pressing Enter with an empty composer steers the first message in the queue into the running turn. The agent then picks it up at the next turn boundary. When the queue contains at least one message, the composer placeholder indicates that this Enter action is available.
The queue head
The queue head is claimed atomically when a queued message is steered. As a result, pressing Enter again quickly cannot steer a message that has already left the queue.
The release also makes steering failures visible. If an attempt to steer a queued message fails, Cline Desktop now surfaces the failure as a toast instead of silently doing nothing. Together, the atomic claim and failure notification make the state of the first queued message clearer during an active task.
macOS Dock icon
The release also adjusts the Cline Desktop icon shown in the macOS Dock. The bundled icon and the selectable runtime icons previously used edge-to-edge artwork, which caused Cline to appear visibly larger than neighboring applications in the Dock.
The affected selectable runtime icons are Classic, Chip, Hologram, and Midnight. They now use the standard margin used by other applications, correcting their apparent size in the Dock.
Windows keeps its existing artwork, so the icon-spacing change applies to the macOS Dock rather than replacing the Windows design.
